
EXPERIENCE SUMMARY: Paul
J. Breaux's 30 years of law practice and experience
has involved many areas of the law. His principal
practice areas include commercial, health care and
personal legal planning.
The commercial facet of his practice involves business
formations, such as corporations and limited liability
companies, and the transactional and other commercial
and legal needs of business entities of many varied
types. Mr. Breaux’s extensive experience also
includes such areas as preparing and evaluating contracts,
as well as leases and other legal arrangements and
needs encountered in the conduct of business.
Mr. Breaux’s practice also includes counseling
and advising health care professionals, such as physicians,
pharmacists, hospice agencies and others, on the formation
of their practices, acquisitions of practices, and
Medicare/Medicaid, fraud and abuse, HIPAA medical
privacy and security, licensure and other legislative,
administrative and regulatory issues.
Additionally, Mr. Breaux regularly aids and counsels
clients in areas of elder and personal planning needs
such as division of property, wills, powers of attorney,
estates and probate of testaments.
Mr. Breaux has written on health care as well as
corporate and commercial related legal issues, and
he has drafted and evaluated legislation and regulations
involving banking, business and health care matters.
EDUCATION:
Paul J. Breaux obtained a pharmacy degree in 1965,
becoming a registered pharmacist and practicing pharmacy
for three years.
He completed law school in 1972, and has practiced
law since that time at Lafayette, Louisiana.
